Prices reflect published list rates. Volume pricing available for deployments of 25+ seats — request a custom quote.

Two things to confirm before publishing: (1) Essentials says "Shared AWS instance" — but your hero, trust bar, and other sections promise "Private AWS infrastructure for every client." Either Essentials should be Private (matching your brand promise) or the "Private cloud, every client" trust-bar item needs adjusting. (2) Essentials doesn't list U.S.-based concierge support — currently only Pro+ shows it. Confirm whether concierge support is gated to Pro tier, or should be on Essentials too.

Purchase.

Build your own configuration.

When you purchase, it isn't a bundle — it's a menu. Pick the components you need, skip the ones you don't. Own the system, depreciate over time, and configure support exactly how your IT team wants it.

Why purchase

For finance teams that prefer capital outlay and depreciation over recurring expense, and IT teams that want full control over their stack.

How it's different

Unlike a subscription, a purchase is à la carte. Bring your own SIP. Self-manage. Skip features you won't use. Pay only for what you take.

Purchase for under-25-seat deployments

Smaller deployments use a different pricing structure — install scales down, but per-seat licensing and minimum support tiers don't compress as cleanly. Here's a representative 15-seat build for context.

Server / hosting
$60/mo minimum × 36 months
$2,160
3CX licensing (36mo)
15 seats × $100/seat

$1,836
3-year total
$10,329
Day-1 outlay$4,200

For most small-business deployments under 25 seats, the subscription model works out cheaper because the fixed install and minimum costs are harder to amortize across fewer seats. At 15 seats, a subscription ($9,180 over 3 years) is roughly 12% cheaper than purchasing. We'll model both for you.

  • Planning horizon is 36 months or shorter
  • Headcount is growing or fluctuating
  • You want predictable monthly expense, no capital outlay

You have stable headcount, capital, and want à la carte control.
  • Planning horizon is 4+ years
  • Your CFO prefers depreciation over recurring expense
  • You want to bring your own SIP or self-manage support
  • You have specific compliance or data sovereignty needs

  • Your finance team treats it as CapEx

Methodology: Figures based on a 70-seat deployment as of Q2 2026. Subscription pricing = $18/seat/mo published Professional tier list pricing on a 60-month term, all-inclusive (license, SIP, support, install, infrastructure). Volume pricing available for 25+ seat deployments — request a custom quote. Purchase pricing = full-stack build with all optional add-ons selected ($12,600 install + $7,000 license + $5,670 server + $16,590 SIP + $14,280 support over 60 months). "Typical hosted UCaaS" projection based on publicly listed pricing of $25–$35/seat/month from leading hosted PBX providers as of Q2 2026; figure shown ($30/seat/mo midpoint = ~$126,000 over 60 months for 70 seats) excludes typical add-on fees. Your purchase total varies based on which optional components you select. Request a custom side-by-side.

Common questions.

Written as direct answers to questions buyers actually ask — formatted to get cited by AI answer engines.

Is it cheaper to subscribe to a business phone system or to purchase one?

It depends on your time horizon and seat count. For a 70-seat deployment at list pricing, the subscription model (OpEx) is cheaper for the first 2.5 years (~$45,360 cumulative at year 3 vs. $41,524 if purchased). The purchase model (CapEx) pulls ahead at month 30 and saves approximately $19,460 over 5 years ($56,140 vs. $75,600 — a 26% savings). The savings grow with seat count: at 200 seats purchasing saves ~26%, and at 500 seats it can save 35%+ over 5 years. For under-25-seat deployments, the subscription is usually the better fit because the fixed install cost is harder to amortize across fewer seats.

What does a 70-seat business phone system cost?

A 70-seat TechmodeGO deployment costs approximately $15,120/year on our 60-month subscription plan at $18/seat/mo published list pricing ($75,600 over 5 years, all-inclusive). If you purchase the system instead, the same deployment runs $56,140 over 5 years — a one-time $19,600 upfront plus ~$609/month for server, licensing, SIP, and support — saving roughly $19,460 (26%) versus the subscription. Volume pricing is available for subscriptions of 25+ seats. Both models include private AWS infrastructure, white-glove installation, U.S.-based concierge support, call recording, AI transcription, and unlimited auto attendants.

What's the difference between subscribing to and purchasing a VoIP phone system? (OpEx vs. CapEx)

The subscription model (also called OpEx, for "operating expense") is a bundled monthly per-seat fee with no upfront cost — predictable, scales with your team, shows up on your P&L as a recurring expense. Purchasing the system (also called CapEx, for "capital expense") is an à la carte build — you pick which components you need (server, licensing, SIP, install, support), pay upfront for hardware and one-time costs, and depreciate the asset over time. Techmode supports both models on the same TechmodeGO platform.

Can I bring my own SIP trunking when I purchase the system?

Yes. When you purchase, the components are à la carte — if you have an existing SIP carrier relationship, you can skip our SIP trunking line item entirely. We'll configure the system to work with your provider. This isn't an option on the subscription model, where SIP is bundled into the per-seat rate.

Can I self-manage a purchased system without ongoing support?

Yes. The ongoing managed support line item is optional. If you have an in-house IT team capable of patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting, you can purchase the system without our managed support agreement. We still provide the white-glove installation; what you skip is the recurring support contract afterward.

Does the purchase pricing scale with seat count?

Yes. Server hosting, licensing, SIP trunking, installation effort, and managed support all scale with seat count. The pricing structure for under-25-seat deployments differs from 25+ seats — smaller deployments have less room to amortize fixed costs, which is why the subscription model is usually the better fit for small teams.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. The TechmodeGO subscription is available month-to-month or with annual agreements. Annual commitments come with better per-seat rates — 36-month and 60-month terms unlock our best pricing. Purchasing is a one-time transaction by definition; you own the hardware and licensing outright once deployed.

Are there any fees not included in the quote?

No. TechmodeGO quotes are all-inclusive — no regulatory surprise fees, no per-feature upcharges, no hidden admin license costs. With the subscription, your monthly per-seat rate covers everything. With a purchase, the line items you select are the line items you pay for.

What does "private AWS infrastructure" actually mean?

Most UCaaS providers run all customers on shared, multi-tenant servers. When one customer has a bad day — a spike in call volume, a configuration error — everyone on that server can be affected. TechmodeGO gives every customer their own dedicated, isolated AWS instance.

Do you offer pricing for MSP resellers?

Yes. The TechmodeGO MSP Reseller Program offers wholesale pricing with 30–40% margins. MSPs control their own pricing, packaging, and recurring revenue strategy. Techmode handles provisioning, compliance, infrastructure, and — if preferred — support.
